New Baby Recommendations

When I was pregnant and newly postpartum, I searched high and low for things to make my days easier, more organized, and less work. I found a couple of great things that worked for our family, and I wanted to share them here. Please feel free to comment with any questions!

Hatch Baby App

Parents! I want to share some of my favorite digital parenting recommendations! We have been obsessed with the Hatch Baby app since my daughter was born. In the early days we used it to track nursing, pumping & bottle feeding, diapers, naps, and weight and height changes, and today (she’s 11 months old) we still choose to log diapers and bottles. It also collects a photo a day which is so fun to compare as baby grows! Our favorite thing about this app is it syncs with @amazon_alexa 🙌🏼 making it easy for us to add things when we’re without our phones!

Paper Baby Tracker

If you prefer the less digital route, this was something else we used! I found an inexpensive baby tracker printout on Etsy, put it in an 8x10 frame and then used a dry erase marker. You could easily keep one in the nursery or the play area to help communicate between parents 🥰 Here’s a link to this one, which comes in several colors and is a $5 instant download!

The Baby Shusher App

Another recommendation my parenting life would be lost without. This $5.99 app that runs for 12 hours and makes the perfect white noise shushing sound. Once you download it, you can use it on any device with the same apple store account, which means it can always be with you! My daughter has used this for nap and sleep since she was 6 weeks old and we are obsessed. It’s really relaxing, doesn’t require you to have another device or item in your home, and you don’t have to wait for Amazon to ship you anything! I prefer the app to the actual physical Shusher because when the device auto shut off at 15 or 30 minutes, it would often re-wake my newborn. When I found out the app had a 12 hour option (and several other time periods) I was sold!

If I can answer questions on these recommendations or provide any others, please reach out! I’d be so happy to help!

With love,

Amanda
